Systems Administrator (Desktop Support – Tier 2+)

Full-time

Location: Customer Site (Springfield, VA) • Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly (TS minimum to apply) • US Citizenship Required

Data Intelligence Solutions LLC is seeking a Tier 2+ Desktop Support professional to provide hands-on, mission-focused technical support in a secured enterprise environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex end-user problems, supporting a wide range of desktop hardware, and partnering with systems/network teams to restore service quickly.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2+ troubleshooting for Windows desktops, thin clients, and mission applications (on-site and remote users)
  • Work within an IT Service Management (ITSM) process to manage incidents/requests, document troubleshooting, and communicate status (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Diagnose and support end-user hardware: secure KVMs (e.g., Belkin), HP thin clients, HP thick clients/workstations, monitors, printers, desktop accessories, and peripherals
  • Support unified communications and collaboration endpoints: VoIP phones and desktop VTC units (e.g., Cisco)
  • Use Active Directory tools to troubleshoot authentication/logon issues, group membership, profile/home drive access, and permissions-related problems
  • Troubleshoot and remediate application delivery issues, including MECM/SCCM deployments, App-V delivered applications, and Citrix XenApp/virtual app environments
  • Perform advanced software installations/upgrades and coordinate patching and configuration changes with established standards
  • Document work performed, root cause, and resolution steps; contribute to team knowledge articles and runbooks
  • Work collaboratively with systems, network, and security teams to resolve complex incidents and reduce repeat issues
  • May provide guidance to less-experienced personnel and assist with task leadership when needed (not a people manager role)

What you’ll need

  • Minimum education/experience:
    • High School Diploma / GED and 6+ years of relevant experience
    • Associate’s Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong desktop support and troubleshooting background in an enterprise environment (Tier 2+)
  • Experience with Windows 10/11 and common enterprise tooling (ticketing, remote support, imaging, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory troubleshooting (logons, permissions, group policy fundamentals)
  • Experience supporting application delivery methods such as MECM/SCCM, App-V, and/or Citrix XenApp
  • Experience working in an ITSM/ticketing environment (e.g., ServiceNow), including clear notes, categorization, and escalation practices
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and consistent documentation habits
  • Ability to lift/move computers, monitors, printers, and other related hardware

Unified Communications Engineer (IPTV)

Environment: Multi-domain enterprise • Focus: IPTV / Enterprise Video • Platforms: VBrick Rev & Appspace • OS: Windows & Linux

Data Intelligence Solutions LLC is seeking a Unified Communications Engineer with strong IPTV / enterprise video experience to help design, operate, and sustain a secure video distribution capability across a multi-domain environment. You’ll work with stakeholders to keep live and on-demand video reliable, scalable, and supportable—covering encoders, ingest, transport, distribution, and endpoint playback.

Key responsibilities

  • Administer and sustain enterprise IPTV/video platforms, with preference for VBrick Rev and Appspace
  • Work within an IT Service Management (ITSM) process to manage incidents/requests, document troubleshooting, and communicate status (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Manage live streaming and VOD workflows: ingest, transcoding, publishing, metadata, channel/program scheduling, and playback
  • Operate and troubleshoot encoder services (hardware/software), including stream health, audio/video sync, and failover
  • Support distribution patterns such as multicast/unicast and help optimize network performance for video delivery
  • Integrate authentication/authorization and role-based access controls appropriate to a secured environment
  • Build and maintain monitoring/alerting and operational runbooks for platform uptime and user experience
  • Coordinate upgrades, patching, and configuration management across Windows and Linux systems
  • Work across domains/tenants as required, ensuring configuration consistency and change control
  • Provide tier-2/3 support and collaborate with network, security, and system teams to resolve complex issues

What you’ll need

  • 5+ years supporting unified communications, IPTV, or enterprise video platforms (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working in an ITSM/ticketing environment (e.g., ServiceNow), including clear notes, categorization, and escalation practices
  • Hands-on experience with VBrick Rev and/or Appspace (administration, publishing workflows, troubleshooting)
  • Working knowledge of streaming concepts/protocols (e.g., RTSP, RTP, HLS, MPEG-TS) and encoder/transcoder workflows
  • Comfortable administering and troubleshooting both Windows and Linux systems (services, logs, certificates, scripting)
  • Understanding of network fundamentals for video (bandwidth, latency/jitter, multicast, firewall/proxy considerations)
  • Strong documentation habits and ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Technologies & equipment you may work with

  • Over-the-air (OTA) antenna systems (VHF/UHF/FM), including long-range outdoor antennas
  • OTA fiber-optic transmitter/receiver pairs (L-band/RF over single-mode fiber; CWDM transport)
  • FM/DAB to transport stream (TS) gateways and multi-channel FM/DAB receiver platforms
  • Multi-channel L-band RF-over-fiber kits for distributing multiple RF channels over a single fiber
  • OTA television to IP tuners (ATSC/QAM tuners with IP output)

Nice to have

  • Experience with digital signage/player endpoints and content scheduling in Appspace
  • Experience integrating SSO (SAML/OIDC) and PKI/cert-based access patterns
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring stacks and log aggregation (e.g., Splunk, ELK, Prometheus/Grafana)
  • Prior work in high-compliance or restricted environments with multi-domain constraints
